Christina Andriole for School Committee

Fiscal Responsibility ∙ Academic Excellence Community Collaboration

I am Christina Andriole, and I am a Candidate for School Committee for the Groton Dunstable Regional School District representing the Town of Dunstable.

Why?

I would like to represent Dunstable on the GDRSD School Committee to help prioritize fiscal responsibility, to continue to advocate for academic excellence for our students, and to cultivate collaboration between our students and our community. I am concerned by the current financial state of our district and our town and the tenor in both. I believe we deserve better and we can achieve it.

I am hopeful that, working with the incoming Superintendent, we can effect much-needed positive change for our kids and our community.

Fiscal Responsibility

The GDRSD has done amazing things for my children, and I am passionate about the district and its achievements. Raising my family in Dunstable has also been invaluable; I love our town and our district, and I am troubled by the financial state of both. My priority will be to clearly articulate to the Superintendent the need for greater financial responsibility and transparency between the school district and the town, and to ensure that the Superintendent understands the urgency of this.

Academic Excellence

As the daughter of a college professor, I learned the value of academic excellence at a young age. GDRSD has become a top-rated school district in Massachusetts – a tremendous feat considering our state offers the best public schools in the country. There is a lot that goes in to providing a 21st century education, and I believe that academic excellence and financial responsibility can co-exist. We owe it to ourselves to achieve this.

Community Collaboration

Our year of 350th Anniversary Celebrations brought our community together in meaningful, inter-generational ways (our Summer Concerts and Journey and Jinglefest do this too). I’d like to see more of this in our community, and I believe in fostering a relationship between the district and our town. Instead of allowing ourselves to be divided, let’s come together. I bet we have more in common than not. Inter-generational relationships are beneficial to all, and when students and townspeople connect, the community thrives.
